چکیده

Within mass perturbation theory, already the first order contribution to the chiral condensate of the massive Schwinger model is UV divergent. We discuss the problem of choosing a proper normalization and, by making use of some bosonization results, we are able to choose a normalization so that the resulting chiral condensate may be compared, e.g., with lattice data. ∗)email address: [email protected], [email protected]

The Schwinger Model in Light-Cone Gauge

The Schwinger model, defined in the space interval −L ≤ x ≤ L, with (anti)periodic boundary conditions, is canonically quantized in the lightcone gauge A− = 0 by means of equal-time (anti)commutation relations. The transformation diagonalizing the complete Hamiltonian is explicitly constructed, thereby giving spectrum, chiral anomaly and condensate. The structures of Hilbert spaces related both...

Vacuum functional and fermion condensate in the massive Schwinger model

We derive a systematic procedure of computing the vacuum functional and fermion condensate of the massive Schwinger model via a perturbative expansion in the fermion mass. We compute numerical results for the first nontrivial order. ∗)permanent address: Institut für theoretische Physik, Universität Wien Boltzmanngasse 5, 1090 Wien, Austria email address: [email protected]

Two-flavour Schwinger model with dynamical fermions in the Lüscher formalism

with two degenerate flavours of fermions. For m = 0 it is exactly soluble[1] and has a known expansion in the mass[2]. Close to the chiral limit, we expect three light states (‘pions’), massive mesons and a non-zero fermion condensate. The lattice version is defined using compact link variables Uμ(x) ∈ U(1) with the standard plaquette action Sg[U ] and Wilson fermions with operator M . Integrat...

IR-Divergence and Anomalous T -Dependence of the Condensate in the Quenched Schwinger Model

The Schwinger model is used to study the artifacts of quenching in a controlled way. The model is solved on a finite-temperature cylinder of circumference β=1/T with bag-inspired local boundary conditions at the two ends x1 =0 and x1 =L which break the γ5-invariance and thus play the role of a small quark mass. The quenched chiral condensate is found to diverge with a non-powerlike singularity ...

Chemical Potential Dependence of Chiral Quark Condensate in Dyson-Schwinger Equation Approach of QCD

We propose a chemical potential dependent effective gluon propagator and study the chiral quark condensate in strongly interacting matter in the framework of Dyson-Schwinger equation approach. The obtained results manifest that, as the effect of the chemical potential on the effective gluon propagator is taken into account, the chiral quark condensate decreases gradually with the increasing of ...
